War hero Julius Kuperjanov’s name in the call-up list for Vana-Kuuste rural municipality

Although the 20-year-old Kuperjanov had graduated the Tartu Teachers Training College six months previously and served as a schoolmaster in Kambja, the service committee unanimously pronounced him eligible for service. He was assigned to frontline service. A medical examination found Kuperjanov to be 2 arssins and 8 and 2/8 verssoks tall (179 cm), with a chest circumference of 22 verssoks (98 cm) and weight of 184 pounds (75 kg). Thus he was more slender than most other call-ups.
