In the Ottoman period, these charity fountains had water bowls placed near them. These water bowls are also very important carriers of our culture and tradition, and a very important reference. Here we are with a water bowl made with the intention that Al-Fatiha is recited eternally for the soul of a deceased family member. On this very aesthetic and delicate copper water bowl, the following is written in Ottoman Turkish: “Water Bowl for Reciting Al-Fatiha for the Souls of Hacı Hafız Effendi and His Father Hacı Osman Effendi, 1262 (1846)”.
