Yukako Shibata took water as her inspiration for a tranquil installation in the De-Esacalation Room. Water is one of the most flexible, malleable and intangible elements - it doesn’t take any particular form or shape, and is in a constant state of change. Shibata's priority was to express calmness, a state of freedom and a flow with the intention that the occupant will have the chance to contemplate and gain positive thoughts and energy. She also intended to create warmth and an atmosphere with the use of gentle colours and soft and fluid abstract shapes and movement.
