Water jar

This attic water jar or hydria is decorated with a domestic scene. The lady of the house sits on a small chair with a beauty case on her lap. She is accompanied by two maidservants, who help her with her toilet. One is holding a large mirror, while the other is bringing her an exaleiptron, a container which precious scent was kept.
