Many American toy manufacturers offered fire-fighting vehicles made of cast iron. The Dent Hardware Company, of Fullerton, PA, the Hubley company in Lancaster, PA, and the Kenton Lock Manufacturing Co., Kenton, OH, were among the well-known fire-truck producers. Fire-fighting toys remained popular from the late 19th century into the early years of the 21st century, though manufacturers made more recent offerings from plastic or sheet metal.
