Original Robert Ingpen watercolour depicting Australian Rules footballer, Norm Smith, in the Melbourne Football Club colours. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. Smith played 210 games and kicked 546 goals for Melbourne (1935-48) and later coached the club (1952-67). During this period, Melbourne reached 11 consecutive finals series, and won six premierships from eight Grand Finals. Smith had briefer stints at Fitzroy FC as captain-coach (1949-50) and then non-playing coach (1951), and at South Melbourne FC as coach (1969-72).
