Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Australian runner, Shirley Strickland. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. At the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games athletics competition, held at the MCG, Strickland won two gold medals, in the 80m Hurdles, and 4x100m Relay (with Betty Cuthbert, Norma Croker, & Fleur Mellor). She also won medals at Olympic Games in London (1948) and Helsinki (1952), and Empire/Commonwealth Games in Auckland (1950).
