Waterfall tumbling from the top of a mist-shrouded ravine to the rainforest floor of Kaupo Gap, Haleakala National Park, East Maui. The lush rainforest of Kaupo Gap, on the windward eastern side of Maui, is supported by an annual rainfall of 250"/630cm, a great contrast to the dry lava landscape within the high, alpine western side of the crater. A walking track across Haleakala crater descends to the east coast of Maui via Kaupo Gap.
