Mediocre portrait, probably deriving from a incision by Agostino Carracci (1557-1602) or from the one by Hieronymus Wierix (1553-1619) representing the pope who succeded to Gregorio XIV, died two months after his election on 30 december 1591. Born in Bologna, in 1519 after graduating in law, entered in the service of cardinal Nicolò Ardinghelli, then at Avignone as the secretary of the cardinal Alessandro Farnese, who dispatched him to Parma as governor. In the four years of his parmense sojourn, Facchinetti was a member of the Capitolo of the church of Saint Donnino and archpriest of Siccomonte, justifying the presence of his portrait in Fidenza.
