Ignoring all the hazards of nature -- night's blackness, pelting rain, streaking lightning above and striking cobras below -- the heroine rushes through the forest to her lover. Glancing over her shoulder she sees not her lost jewelry fallen on the ground, but the gently intertwined trees, strengthening her desire to be similarly entwined in her lover's arms.

All thy limbs o'erspread with one dark hue -- thy bodice deeply dyed in dark cova. Lovely the jet-black silken robe,a nd all they gear becoming -- the black braid beauteous on they back let fall. At such times, in such a guise, when you meet your Krishna, all your efforts will bear fruit."
