Based in the Suffolk village of Thwaite in England, Orlando Whistlecraft took weather observations systematically from the 1820s and his journals where published yearly between 1856 to 1884.
This is Whistlecraft's opinions on the significance of the weather, taken from his manuscript diary for 1827. The National Meteorological Library and Archive holds all his original manuscripts from 1827 to 1892.
