The weekend edition of the Freeman’s Journal, the Weekly Freeman, was published in Dublin for 161 years, until 1922. The Weekly Freeman is well known for its Freudian slip: in 1900, during Queen Victoria’s visit to Kingstown, the newspaper erroneously remarked that the Queen and her party “pissed over the bridge,” rather than “passed over the bridge.”
