The futuristic design with rotating picture tube comes from the well-known German industrial designer Hartmut Esslinger. However, a 1962 front page of East German magazine "Kultur im Heim" (Culture at Home) showed the design of the Stereo 72 by Jürgen Peters alongside other furniture of the 1970s, which was strikingly similar to the Wegavision 2000 and 3000. This never made it as far as production in East Germany, but it is likely one of the cases in which an East German design was adapted in the West.
