From the Artist: Is it safe to hug the grandparents? We haven’t left the house in over a month and we haven’t been into a store since last March, so probably, right? But what about an outside play date? Would that be okay? If we did that, then we definitely couldn’t hug the grandparents for another two weeks. How will all of this time at home affect the kids in the future? Are we making the right decision to keep them learning virtually or should we send them back to school in person? Why am I so worried about these miniscule problems when there are so many larger issues facing the world? And what on earth are we going to eat for dinner tonight? Decisions have always been difficult for me, but in the last year, while COVID has taken over the world, each decision has taken on more weight. It feels like every small decision has life or death consequences. As a mother, this whole year has been a balancing act of trying to keep the kids healthy both physically and mentally. But every decision seems to be choosing one at the expense of the other and one wrong move could cause everything else to come tumbling down. As a result, I feel the weight of every decision crushing me a little more every day.
