About the artist: Charles G. Grow (Capt, USMC) (1964 – present)
Charles Grow enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1982 and served as a photographer and graphics specialist. A self-taught artist, he took classes at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Grow served as a combat artist during Operation Desert Storm and retired from the Marine Corps in 2003, at the rank of captain. He became the Museum’s art curator after Jack Dyer retired, and the Deputy Director in 2007, retiring in 2020. He is still active in the combat art community.
