Western rood screen, Last Supper

In the relief on the left, Jesus and his disciples celebrate their last communion on Holy Thursday. Actually there should be twelve disciples. But the Naumburg Master only included five in the picture, because otherwise the figures would have become too small. So they sit here with bread and wine, and Jesus predicts his near death.
