London, United Kingdom

Christopher Wood first met the painters Ben Nicholson and his first wife, Winifred, in 1926, and he later stayed with them at Bankshead, their Cumbrian home near Hadrian’s Wall. Mutually admiring each other’s work, all three painted and drew the Cumbrian and Cornish landscapes together.
