This white clay pipe was found in Toronto by Timmins Martelle Heritage Consultant in 2018. The artifact was found in on the 2 privies excavated on the site. This pipe was made in the 19th century. The mark on the stem, “L. Fiolet / St. Omer / Déposé”, identifies the origin of the pipe. It was made in the Fiolet factory in Saint-Omer, Northern France. The Fiolet factory produced pipes from 1764 up to 1920, but this specific mark appears after 1834.
