Yangzhou Museum

Yangzhou Museum
Yangzhou, China

Unearthed in Dongfeng Brick & Tile Factory of Yangzhou city in 1975, this pot has a solid structure, decorous shape and a coating of body-protecting glaze between the body and the white glaze, thus believed to be one of the best pieces made by Xing Kiln of Hebei province. With an opening that resembles a trumpet bell, a high neck, slanted shoulders, convex belly that tapers gradually in the lower section, pie-shaped base and a flat bottom, this piece features a loop handle, on the opposite of which erects a shorts spout with a circular mouth.
