Anna S. Fisher was a painter known for her still life and floral paintings. Born in 1873 in Cold Brook, NY, she moved to New York City to study at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, graduating in 1900. Fisher remained in the city for much of her adult life, teaching at the Pratt Institute for over 40 years.

Working both in watercolors and oils, Fisher won many awards for her paintings during her lifetime. Among them were prizes from the National Association of Women Artists, New York Watercolor Club, Baltimore Watercolor Club, Grand Central Gallery, and The National Arts Club. She was also a member of many artist organizations and clubs, including our club and the National Academy of Design, where she was an academician and had her works were exhibited in over 40 annual exhibitions.

In addition to our club, Fisher’s works are included in the collections of the National Academy of Design, Pratt Institute Art School, the Brooklyn Museum, and Montclair Museum in New Jersey.
