This daily blouse has geometric motifs embroidered on the back that were done by using the false brocade technique, which is worked by hand with stitches imitating brocade. Brocade is a decorative technique used in both backstrap and treadle looms to create designs by adding supplementary threads, usually in the weft, during weaving.
