The white-naped crane is a bird smaller than the red-crowned crane and is characterized by the red color around the eyes. The bird is well known for not being afraid of people. White-naped cranes live in groups in the riverside area with shallow or flowing water, reservoirs, damp areas, and rice field. The birds visit the same places year by year when they are not disturbed.
