Tottori, Japan

Maeta, who has been fascinated by porcelain since his time at university, initially created works inspired by the classical forms of Kenkichi Tomimoto’s white porcelain vessels, but from there gradually developed a strongly formative style incorporating his own original designs. One of the prize-winners at the 11th Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, this work can be considered as a benchmark in Maeta’s early efforts in ceramic design.
