Who is Aaron Burr?

Article in the January 1, 1801 edition of the Aurora General Advertiser introducing its readers to the nominal Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Aaron Burr of New York. The favorable description of Burr belies the animosity that would grow out of his silence during the crisis that ensued following his Electoral tie with Thomas Jefferson.
