Coiled wicker basket and lid featuring the red and blue colours of the Union Jack. Depicted on both sides of the basket below the handles is an Australian Imperial Forces (AIF) colour patch, possibly 15th Infantry Battalion, with the Union Jack in red and blue on the two larger sides. The basket was made by a Turkish soldier held as a prisoner of war in Egypt, and collected by Sister Constance Keys, Australian Army Nursing Service, while stationed in Egypt during the First World War.
