José Marín (Valencia, Valencian Community, 1965) is an internationally renowned creator who is inspired by nature, other cultures, the renaissance movement and small details to create his pieces. Since 2010 he has specialised in the creation of jewellery and uses titanium as a material. Through hammering techniques he has managed to give shape to this challenging material and has transformed it into organic and malleable forms, achieving finishes with a wide and exceptional range of colours.
Marín is a technician who graduated from the Escuela Superior de Arte y Diseño de Valencia, where years later he now teaches. The son of an artisan jeweller, his father taught him how to forge metals and create Valencian baroque jewellery. His creations have been exhibited in fairs and galleries around the world, such as the Christie’s exhibition and auction in Paris and the International Biennial of Artistic Jewellery in Beijing. His works are part of the permanent collections in leading museums, such as the National Museum of Zurich in Switzerland, and he was also awarded the Crafts Prize of the Valencian Community in 2021.
