William and Mary Coronation Medal

A gold William and Mary medal, with both monarchs on the front facing to the right. On the back, a scene from classical mythology is portrayed showing Jupiter throwing thunderbolts at Phaeton, who is falling from his chariot. It is thought that this is representative of William III and James II and the events of the Glorious Revolution in 1688.
