Cheyenne, United States

Oil painting on masonite board "Willows in Winter" by Shannon Troxler. It is a semi-representational landscape scene of a stream and willow grasses in a winter environment. A reflective stream zig-zags diagonally through the composition from the upper left to the lower right foreground. The steep shoreline is covered in snow and dotted with thick clusters of willow grasses. The painting is rendered with bold directional brush strokes.

Shannon Troxler is a graduate of the Schuler School of Fine Arts and the Art Student’s League where she learned a deep appreciation for the craft of classical art while grinding pigments and making her own charcoal. These days she continues to explore new mediums and methods in her studio in Wilson Wyoming. Her latest passion involves molten wax, a blow torch, and the encaustic medium.
