Soft pine plank from a French wine crate, retrieved from the wreck of the William Salthouse in Port Philip Bay, Victoria. The crate is stamped "LICHTENSTEIN FINS ET CE CETTE". The crate had been packed with bottles of dessert wine, originating in France, exported to Montreal, and then shipped to Port Philip as a speculative cargo
