Glass siphon for Seltz and mold for engraving on glass by the manufacturer Ossani Dorino Faenza. The term Seltz water or Seltz means highly carbonated water obtained by placing carbon dioxide previously concentrated in special cylinders in a hermetically closed siphon. Seltz water is mainly used for the preparation of cocktails and spirits and may contain chloride, sodium citrate and bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate and sulphate, disodium phosphate and also some flavourings. The term "Seltz" derives from Selters, a mountain town in Germany located in western Hesse, in the Black Forest, known for its mineral water naturally rich in carbon dioxide and called Selterswasser, that is, Selters water.
