This photograph shows the interior of one of two hangars that were built by Rolls Royce at the former Hucknall airfield in 1944. The Merlin engine and Frank Whittle's jet engine were developed on this site. When this photograph was taken in 2018, the Wing Test Hangar was occupied by the Hucknall brance of the Rolls Royce Heritage Trust and used as an engine museum.
