Then just 17 years old, Wendy Chen won the first prize of the 1990 US Chopin Competition. Pictured here with Philip Caswell, who was at the time the President of the Frank Stanley Beveridge Foundation who donated the $12,000 First Prize. Since her triumph in Miami Ms. Chen has enjoyed a respected career as a performing an prolific recording artist.
