Sponsored by the American Institute of Polish Culture (Miami) and the University of Miami School of Music, Lady Blanka Rosenstiel's dream of holding a major Chopin Competition in the U.S. came true in 1975. Lady Blanka is pictured here with the 3 top laureates (Dean Kramer 1st Prize, Ian Hobson 2nd, and Gustavo Ponzoa 3rd). This prominent and successful event sparked the creation of the Chopin Foundation of the U.S. which has presented the National Chopin Piano Competition every five years since.
