The winter hat is used by both men and women in the late Joseon period. The rear part of the hat reaches down to the neck to cover the nape, ears, and chin. The shape is similar to Nambawi (fur-lined hood) of the late nineteenth century, but what differentiates the Winter Hat is the cheek protector. It is composed of purple floral-patterned fabric lined with green cotton flannel and 5 cm marten fur decoration.
