This Lithuanian-born artist who lived in South America often missed the northern winter, and went to Bariloche to paint snow. Here, the motif of Indian life is only necessary to inject some vitality. This landscape shows the influence of other genres, but remains a landscape, since for the artist the expression of the winter cold and the stagnation of nature through the harmony of cool colours was most important. He achieved this goal by choosing wide-ranging colours: bright cold blues alongside warm shades of brown, and red highlights. Text author Nijolė Tumėnienė.
