Easton Pearson collaborated with the Shrujan women’s cooperative in the remote desert in Kutch, western India, employing their masterful embroidery skills and techniques to create innovative works. As seen in the Wish top, the women chose their own patterns and colours, and used traditional stitches from the region. It was common for Easton Pearson to work with multiple groups of artisans to complete a single garment. The strips of embroidery from Kutch were pieced together by the tailors in the Mumbai embroidery workshop using a paper pattern to achieve the shape of the top. They added multiple rows of folded silk bias strips and silver sequins. The skirt is a stripe silk cotton mashru.
