"For me the most difficult thing about quilt making is coming up with an idea. In this case the idea came from my wife Sherry, a talented physician."
The design for Wisteria is from a stained glass window by Louis Comfort Tiffany titled "Snowball and Wisteria" circa 1907. Mark first drew the design in miniature then enlarged it to the actual size of the quilt. He then made all the appliqué pieces, searching hand-dyed fabric for just the right colors and turning the edges under as perfectly as possible. Once all the appliqué pieces were made, he machine appliquéd them to the black background.
"Quilting for me is a road, one filled with many choices and many ways to achieve a goal. Quilt has shown me how much my family loves me and wants only the best for me. It's just like life. Thank God for quilting and quilters."
