Woman Examining Jars of Food

This image depicts a woman examining jars of fruit and vegetables, which were probably available for sale. The food was grown as part of the Unified Farm Program in Greene County, Ga. The photographer was Jack Delano of the Farm Security Administration. Arthur Franklin Raper, the creator of the collection in which this photograph appears, was interested in rural poverty in the depression era south.
