Corresponding to the moment in which Gargallo began his professional independence, this vigorous and very suggestive female head seems conceptually and graphically linked to his series of inks on The Last Judgment, 1903 (all four belonging to the collections of the Pablo Gargallo Museum), and with Women praying, ink and watercolor from 1903-05, in addition to revealing a relative proximity to the set of nude female figures that he drew between 1903 and 1909, mostly inks and watercolors, such as Drying Woman, ca. 1909, also included here.
