Original caption: Twenty-one year old Barbara Webber operates the winch at the Turkey Pond, N.H. sawmill
of the Northeastern Timber Salvage Administration in part of a project to use woman 'jacks to replace men
and cut up 7,000,000 feet of salvaged timber left from the 1938 hurricane. It's Barbara's job to perate the
winch that hauls the logs up to the mill deck, preparatory to sawing them up.
