Woman miner from Puertollano

When one observes Minera de Puertollano, the most surprising thing about this bust is its sobriety and classicism. The sculptor converts a country woman into a female icon. The harmonious, almost perfect lines of this miner match the serenity of her attitude and her gaze; neither she nor the sculpture who created her are willing to make any concessions.
