A bronze portrait done in 1961 of a woman wearing a traditional African head wrap known as a "doek” in Afrikaans by the South African artist Nell Kaye (1912-1969). Sort Biography: Nell Kaye was born in Johannesburg in 1912 and exclusively created bronze busts. She studied at the Witwatersrand Technical College Art School in the 1930s and at the Michaelis School of Art in the 1950s in Cape Town. Kaye passed away in Rondebosch in the Western Cape in 1969.
