During the Joseon dynasty and the Daehan Empire, women of the royal family would wear court robes to ceremonies, big or small. Especially, court robes that are red were only worn by the queen for major ceremonies, while ordinary women were allowed to wear court robes on their wedding day. They wore different colors according to their status in the order of hierarchy: yellow, red, purple and green.
