Woman's Scarf

This piece is a plain weave Sumatran headscarf decorated using the resist-dyeing technique. The main portion was dyed multiple times to create an irregular argyle pattern consisting of yellow, green, red, and white shades. The pattern is offset by two decorative yellow spots with an undulating outer trim. Resist-dyeing introduces a sense of a randomness, making every piece unique.
