Woman with avocado taco (Mujer con taco de aguacate)

Inspired by Diego Rivera’s work that often shows women with large eyes and indigenous traits, Mafer López chose to depict a simple yet classic dish and indispensable in any Mexican kitchen: an avocado taco. “At first I would only show hands taking ingredients from a Mexican still life, but my main focus has always been to portray women who look like me.”
