This one-time publication, while not mentioning Victoria Woodhull by name, probably was inspired by her recent notoriety and her campaign for the Presidency. The raucous crowd on the front as a woman expounds on female rights was the illustrator's attempt to expose what the artist felt were the dangers of women engaging in discourse in the public marketplace. The corruption of the world was more than likely to affect her adversely.
