Li Tung-keung graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1962. He studied etching and drawing at the Univeristy of lowa in U.S.A. between 1972 and 1973. In 1974, he took lithography at the Graduate School of Art and Design, Pratt Institute in New York. In 1980, he studied lithography and silkscreen at the Brighton Polytechic in Britain. Upon his return to Hong Kong, Li taught at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Baptist University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre. Li has participated in numerous solo and group shows in China, Hong Kong and the USA. His works are in the collection of Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Heritage Museum and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is the recipient of the Hong Kong Art Development Award in 2000. Li mainly engages himself in lithography and etching, and is fascinated by the long-standing history of etching and its unique feature. He believes that the variety of visual effects and the sensitive qualities of the etched lines can never be achieved in the other printing media.
