Bullerengue is a traditional rhythm of African origin and fertility rites of Palenque de San Basilio; a dance related to a coming-of-age ritual for the palenquero youth.

The traditional dance attire for Bullerengue consists of white clothing, wide skirt and a low-cut sleeveless blouse, adorned with sequins. Women in Bullerengue start the dance by going out to the street while clapping, slow walking with a straighten back.
