Twin figurine or 'Ibeji' twin figure of a male carved from wood and wearing coral beads; the birth of twins in the Yorubu tribe, Nigeria, occasioned special rites; if one of a pair of twins died, the survivor had to have such a figure carved; standing and has an angular Mohiccan-type hair cut, and is decorated with several strings of coral beads, blue, white, yellow and red; one round each wrist, two around his waist, and four around the neck.
