Wooden Butter Case

Whenever we see this wooden butter case in the collection, we think of the butter case that Kemal Sunal ate from, hiding from his friends in the movie Hababam Sınıfı. Just as olive oil is at the forefront of the Mediterranean cuisine, butter was a staple of the Ottoman cuisine, and this wooden butter case is one of the most precious items of our butter culture. It also shows the importance we attach to butter in our cuisine. There is outer case, which is made of wood and has a very elegant and strong body, and an inner body that will keep the butter fresh and in the initial condition of storage without spoiling. This object is almost like a hint of taste offered by wood and the past. A very clear message from centuries of experience on how butter should be stored.
